What is the Tierra Learning Center?
Currently, we're a retreat center facility, an organic farm, a preschool and a movement to house adults with developmental disabilities in a truly inclusive community. The Tierra Learning Center is our umbrella organization that holds these different enterprises together with a shared mission and vision - creating a vibrant, inclusive and evolving place that provides our larger community with ideas and services for positive and healthy change.
How can you participate?
You can stop by the farm and find sun warmed strawberries, cherry bomb peppers and hay bales. You can rent amazing facilities to host family gatherings or retreats, see a model of art and nature based preschool education, learn about our future inclusive housing options, or participate in our 2nd annual Family Camp in October. Tierra Learning Center is the association of affiliated enterprises, found at left, that strive to offer specific services and products with the shared commitment of stewardship, inclusion and positive change in mind. Why our name serves us well
At the heart of this community is the belief in life-long learning. Each of our endeavors are striving to do good work in interesting ways - frequently exploring new ideas and adapting to new relationships. As a learning center, we're dedicated to continuing our exploration of these themes of inclusion and stewardship. We also joke that working together, day in day out, requires a degree of personal growth: at our best, we keep each other working diligently, honestly, with humor and humility.
