Heartbeet Lifesharing
Quoting that “boldness has genius, power and magic in it,” the people at Heartbeet have created an amazing farm and community on a Vermont hill side through shear will, love and hard work. If you’re unfamiliar with lifesharing communities, they are doing this with people with developmental disabilities. Proof positive of where there is a will to do good there is a way.
E.F. Schumacher Society
A quiet and concerted effort for local economies. Located in Great Barrington, Mass. the folks working with the Schumacher Society have been leading, by example, for 30 years the call for local currencies, community land trusts, micro lending and other forms of local community empowerment.

We’re big fans of running around in the woods and mountains here. This is a good, easy on-line contour map share. Nice for tracing and retracing backlands adventures.
