We are blessed to be building new residences in a spectacular setting and with stewardship as the highest commitment. The building and design processes will include clearing the land responsibly, energy budgeting and production, and ensuring Sunitsch Canyon retains open space, farming, wetlands and healthy woodlands.
Tierra Village Homes
Tierra Village is a land-based, life long living community with housing options a for adults with developmental disabilities that offer, under one contract, an independent living unit (home or room), residential amenities, meaningful work opportunities, and access to choices of care services. Tierra Village is part of a working community comprised of residential and non-residential contributing members both with and without disabilities.
Very briefly residential services can include meals, social activities, scheduled transportation, housekeeping and maintenance. Transportation services include access to work, physician, and rehabilitation services. Care services are provided by live-in licensed care partners and volunteers.
The Village
Located 5 miles from Leavenworth, Washington on the eastern slopes of the North Cascade Mountains, Tierra Village sits comfortably in a forested basin looking south across a hillside orchard, open hay fields and the ridges beyond. A short walk alongside our 40 acre certified organic farm, complete with an active swallow aviary, brings Village residents to the heart of the Tierra Learning Center which includes our homes, offices, workshops, community and recreation spaces. There are currently two residential living spaces in the canyon that do not offer support services. Groundbreaking for the first supported living home will take place in May. Development Phase One
The first phase of development of Tierra Village Homes is to provide high quality homes for people who need care support. Tierra's first building will provide connected, supported private living spaces with outstanding large and small community spaces.
