UVC Theater Camp Breakout at Tierra

Leavenworth is home to an amazing non-profit, Upper Valley Connection. that organizes recreational opportunities that enrich the lives of folks with (and without) developmental disabilities. On a break out session from practice for the Jungle Book production, 35 cast members met on the TIerra grounds at the ropes course operated by WSU Extension and 4-H.

Summer is busy at TIerra and we often have the opportunity to collaborate with both the ropes course crew and Upper Valley Connection. The Tierra Learning Center umbrella of positive growth and inclusiveness has been evolving with these organizations - and many others, for a number of years now.

Positive growth, we joke, often involves jumping in with both feet, or taking risks. We saw a strong core of facilitators over UVC's two days here - but despite the skill and planning, I'm sure the success was due to everyone's willingness to put themselves "out there" and jump into the circle that made the events a success.
